Opening the Door III

The Journey into Employment

A booking form is available here in .pdf format (112k)

I thought I would let you know that after our continued success of previous OTD conferences, we have decided that our third conference will focus on employment issues.

It has been our aim at The Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (JTSMA) to provide all the support and information possible in order that people affected by SMA can set about fulfilling their aspirations. Opening the Door is part of an on-going initiative to overcome the disadvantage of isolation and lack of information imposed by the disabling effects of restricted mobility opportunities. The conference is the perfect environment in which ideas about employment and the issues surrounding employment can flourish, and open the door of opportunity for people affected by neuromuscular impairment to make informed choices about how they chose to live their lives.

Where & When

North Stand,
Manchester United F.C,

Costs

The conference is FREE if you are aged between 16-25 and directly effected by, or accompanying someone who is directly affected by SMA and attending the full days conference.

Free accommodation is only available for the first 40 bookings, so book now to avoid disappointment.

If you are paying for the conference the accommodation cost is £42.50 per person for B&B based on two sharing a room. The delegate rate for the conference is £30.00 per person and includes lunch.

The majority of the information at conference will be provided directly by people affected by neuromuscular conditions and not the type of information that you find in leaflets.

The conference is not just about providing information, it will offer the opportunity to meet and talk with like-minded people.

I look forward to meeting you at the "Opening the Door" conference.

Warmest wishes,

Rachel Ford
Contact Network Co-ordinator
