Family Care Days

The Jennifer Trust for Spinal Muscular Atrophy has a philosophy and history of working hard develop awareness of and information about best care practice for people affected by this condition. We have developed close working relationships with some of the top UK experts in Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) and SMA management, attending medical seminars and conferences and funding research into both genetic research and current management practice.

We have developed a number of key initiatives placing us at the forefront of developing awareness of the major issues surrounding SMA care, including respiration and nutrition.

We are therefore very excited and pleased to announce the launch of the first in a series of "Family Care Development Days".

Dr Anita Simonds and Annie Bagnall will lead the first two of these days.

Dr Simonds is one of the UK's leading experts in SMA Respiratory Management and is Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at The Royal Brompton Hospital, London.

Annie Bagnall is Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist at The Hammersmith Hospital, London. Annie also has a wealth of experience with individuals who have Spinal Muscular Atrophy and has made excellent presentations at our Annual Conference.
