Am I, maybe, spending too much time playing with HTML?

This is a page of colour charts to help choose <BGcolor> settings. If you're using an image as a background then choosing the page colour close to the general colour of the image will make anti-aliassing of the text very much better (on browsers that do that kind of thing!). This isn't legal HTML 3.2 but it probably works. You need at least a 256 colour screen mode.

Here are the standard 16 VGA named colours
 Black Gray Silver White
 Maroon Red Purple Fuchsia
 Green Lime Olive Yellow
 Navy Blue Teal Aqua

Here are 140 named colours

These are arranged in increasing RED from the top to the bottom,
Then increasing GREEN, then BLUE. They are called from the browser by name.
If you don't see differences between some of them you are probably in a 256 colour mode,
If you aren't getting coloured areas at all you browser isn't recognising the names.

And here are the others that missed getting into the specification ;-)

OK, so I cheated a little:- I = 1, O = 0 and S = 5
So FIASCO = "#F1A5C0"
(Thank you Colton Software for the PipeDream subgrams facility!)
